GODHEAD
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

TRINITY ARGUMENT: This passage teaches that since all the "godhead" dwells in Christ, Christ must be deity.

REBUTTAL: PRIOR to this passage, God states that it was HIS pleasure that caused all the fulness of deity to dwell in his Christ;

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

IT IS ALSO God's pleasure that ALL THE FULNESS OF GOD fills us who are Christians. Will that prove that WE are deity also?
Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that YE MIGHT BE FILLED WITH ALL THE FULNESS OF GOD

SAINTS ARE TO BE "PARTAKERS" OF MANY THINGS:
Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Heb 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Heb 12:10 For they (Our Fathers) verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

THE SAINTS ARE TO PARTAKE OF;
The inheritance of the saints, of the heavenly calling, of Christ, of the Holy Spirit, and of his holiness. And we are to be filled with all the fulness of God. Yet, no one claims that this makes us equal with God, or that we are God.

QUESTION: WHY IS THE GREEK TRANSLATED "GODHEAD" WHERE THE DOCTRINE REQUIRES IT, YET IT IS TRANSLATED "GODLINESS," OR "DIVINE NATURE" WHERE IT DOES NOT SO REQUIRE? SOMEHOW, RELIGIONISTS HAVE DEVELOPED A CONCEPT THAT WORDS CHANGE IN MEANING WHEN RELATED TO JESUS CHRIST, THAN WHEN RELATED TO OTHER MEN. THERE IS NO SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT FOR SUCH A PRACTICE.

LOOK AT THE VERSES THAT DEAL WITH THIS DOCTRINE:
Eph 3:19 ....filled with all the fulness (plerowma) of God (theos).
Col 1:19...that in him should all fulness (plerowma) dwell (katoikeow);
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth (katoikeow) all the fulness (plerwoa) of the Godhead (theoteetos) bodily.

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that divinity [11] is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and divine majesty; so, that they are without excuse:
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

"GODHEAD" REQUIRES A COMPOUND WORD FORM: kefalee & theos
kefalee; the head. kefalee is the Greek word for head, and theos,they-os; the Greek word for God, deity. Any compound-word-form for Godhead should include these words in the compound form. The only compound-forms dealing with kefalee are kefalaiow, (kef-al-ahee-o-o); wounded in the head, and kefalis (kef-al-is) the knob on the end of a stick (on which a scroll was rolled). The word "Godhead" does NOT exist in either the Hebrew, or Greek scripture.

The concept of God as "head" is covered by Paul in 1Co 11:3 "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is god."
"the head (kefalee) of Christ (cristos) is God (theos)."

Even though God is the ultimate head, there is no compound word-form used to say so....i.e., NO "GODHEAD."
